They are being made available as DIRECT DIGITAL COLOR REPRODUCTIONS from master image files. Using LightJet 5000 printer technology, prints up to 40x50 inches can be created that retain the high resolution and color saturation that was unobtainable in prints prepared from traditional analog reproduction processes. Since astronomical negatives and transparencies are scanned, there is no need for an internegative, resulting in the avoidance of many printing problems. These beautiful fine art photographs have ultra high resolution, high color saturation and contrast, and no digital artifacts. Currently, Glossy Fujicolor Crystal Archive color paper is used for extended print life.
