Folded Space - A view into NGC 6188

Space appears to be folding upon itself in this remarkable vista of gas and dust on the Ara Norma border of the Souther Milky Way. Waves of cosmic dust seem to spill over into this bright and extensive hydrogen emission nebula complex. Remarkable too is the other object - NGC 6164/65 - a high energy triple star system in the center of the "S" shaped cloud ejecting hot gas at high speeds.
