The bright red Tarantula Nebula is now clearly visible, surrounded by a complex of hydrogen clouds and supernova remnants. Those are not film grains! Individual stars within the LMC are now resolved, resulting in the grainy appearance in the large blue bar of stars running horizontally below center.
